Balos lagoon

Gramvousa island
Gramvousa island is located at the northwestern coast of Crete, near the famous Balos lagoon. It is actually made up of two small islets, Imeri Gramvousa and Agria Gramvousa , the most well-known is Imeri Gramvousa, which is home to a historic Venetian fortess built in the 16th century , offering breathtaking views of the surrounding sea. the island it is also famous for its shipwreck and its rich natural beauty, inculding rare plant and bird species,like Balos , Gramvousa is also part of the Natura 2000 network .
