Metochi Farmhouse
The farm’s story begins in 1890, when a couple settled in the remote area of Metochi near Gramvousa. Their son, Haralambos, later emigrated to Kansas City at just 16, where his honesty and hard work—got promoted by returning a lost wallet—earned him recognition and success.
Cooking Lessons
During your visit, you will tour the farm’s beautiful surroundings, including the vegetable garden, olive groves, citrus orchard, wine cellar, and areas with free-range chickens and sheep. You’ll also have the opportunity to take part in a hands-on cooking experience, using fresh, locally-sourced ingredients such as extra-virgin olive oil, seasonal vegetables, local meats, traditional cheeses, aromatic herbs, and regional wines. This is more than a visit—it’s a journey into the heritage, tastes, and traditions of Crete.
