Therisso Gorge & Villages Guided Scooter Tour

Begin your journey in the heart of Chania and head south towards the spectacular Therisso Gorge, located approximately 16 km from the city center. This stunning gorge is not only famous for its dramatic natural beauty but also for its important role in Cretan history.

It was here that the Therisso Revolt of 1905, led by Eleftherios Venizelos, began, paving the way for Crete's union with Greece. Keep your eyes open along the way—you might be lucky enough to spot wild goats roaming freely among the rocky slopes. At the end of the gorge lies the historic village of Therisso, where you will make your first stop and soak in the atmosphere of this charming mountain settlement before continuing your adventure.

Your next destination is the picturesque village of Zourva, nestled on the foothills of the White Mountains. Known for its traditional Cretan character, lush surroundings, and stunning mountain views, Zourva offers the perfect backdrop for unforgettable photographs.
Stop here to capture some amazing memories.

From there, continue towards the village of Fournes, passing through the beautiful village of Meskla, situated at an altitude of approximately 200 meters above sea level. Surrounded by orange groves and the refreshing waters of the Keritis River, Meskla is one of the greenest villages in the region.

As you ride along scenic roads lined with olive trees and avocado orchards, arrive at Skines, the village of orange trees. Here you'll experience one of the most authentic pleasures of the Cretan countryside—picking and tasting fresh oranges straight from the tree.

The adventure continues to Vatolakkos, a traditional village renowned for the impressive clock tower that dominates its central square and serves as a local landmark. On your way back, stop at a carefully selected viewpoint where you'll enjoy breathtaking panoramic views across the rolling hills, fertile valleys, and mountain landscapes of western Crete—a perfect opportunity for more spectacular photos.

Before returning to Chania, a final stop at Lake Agia is a must. This peaceful wetland is home to a rich variety of birdlife and offers a wonderful chance to observe many species nesting and feeding in their natural habitat.
